Eindhoven Institute for Renewable Energy Systems (EIRES) is searching for Israel high tech systems and materials companies for renewable energy systems The Technical University of Eindhoven (TU/e), is at the forefront of renewable energy storage and conversion research. TU/e works in close partnership with high-tech manufacturing partners on both fundamental and applied research to achieve a radical transformation of the energy system. TU/e combines its expertise with that of partners in the petro- and chemical industries, SMEs, other knowledge institutions and governments to realize together a sustainable renewable energy system. If you’re ready to take part in the energy transformation, please contact: Dr. Mark BoneSchanscher, Director, E-mail: m.p.boneschanscher@tue.nl
The institute works on the following themes:
- Electrification of the chemical industry, e.g. water electrolysis for hydrogen production, but also CO2 reduction and redesigning chemical processes (e.g. spinning disc reactor, new types of electrolyzers, see e.g. https://innovationorigins.com/tu-eindhoven-is-bringing-hydrogen-as-a-source-of-energy-for-households-one-step-closer/, https://www.tue.nl/en/news/news-overview/millions-for-large-scale-energy-storage-research/, or https://www.chemicalprocessing.com/articles/2015/dutch-firm-revs-up-spinning-disk-efforts/)
- Thermal storage and conversion in the built environment (e.g. heat battery, materials for thermal storage, see e.g. https://www.tue.nl/en/news/news-overview/innovative-heat-battery-gets-7-million-euro-grant-from-eu/)
- Metal fuels as CO2 neutral dense energy carriers (both for generation of high temperature heat in the (chemical) industry, as well as for long haul transport (shipping), see e.g. https://www.tue.nl/en/tue-campus/news/09-01-2019-metal-power-iron-powder-as-an-alternative-to-coal/)
- System integration/system modeling of the energy grid (e.g. digital twins, AI and machine learning, see e.g. https://www.tue.nl/en/our-university/departments/electrical-engineering/department/news/news-overview/12-12-2019-energy-transition-gets-major-boost-with-multimillion-grant/)
Furthermore there is core expertise on plasma science & technology (e.g. for CO2 conversion, generation of point source heat by plasma arcs, preparation of materials) and on increasing efficiency of PV and integrating PV with thermal or hydrogen generation
